CARMEL O’MARA is the author and illustrator of books for children and adults around the world.  A couple of the titles you will see her name on are Good Morning/Good Night, & The Great Deli Cookbook. When you browse around this web site you can find more of the award winning books and products Carmel uses her illustration skills to create. Carmel loves new projects. If you have a project please feel free to contact her at carmelomarahorwitz@gmail.com.           Currently, Carmel lives is Los Angeles, California with her husband, son, their two dogs and three cats.  Growing up she moved back and forth between San Diego (California), Hollywood(California) and Carmel (Indiana), were her father worked as an Artist.  Having had her parents wonderful tutelage in art and design Carmel attended Long Beach State University,were she acquired her BFA.             It was always her dream to become a Children’s book Illustrator and Author. After joining the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators she attended a seminar class with Uri Shulevitz, in Oneonta New York.  Soon after she would create her first book with Harcourt, titled Good Morning/Good Night.           Along with book illustration Carmel is also a freelance Artist/Designer helping to create toys, home decor, packages, etc., for many companies nation wide.
